Were here to defend your future.

  • Criminal Charges:

Hiring Lindeman Lawyers as your legal representative in Criminal proceedings is not just for those who have been accused or charged with a criminal offence. We represent clients who have been convicted and are looking to appeal their sentences whether it’s on an all-grounds basis (because you are not guilty) or a severity basis (because you received too harsh a sentence).

The review of evidence the police wish to rely on and evidence which our clients wish to bring to the court is important. It is most crucial that a cogent argument is presented on behalf of anyone that is charged with a criminal offence.

We have significant experience with clients dealing with DNA evidence, CCTV and our experience assists us greatly in analysing electronic data and presenting electronic evidence to the courts.

At Lindeman Lawyers, our ability to negotiate is crucial and we pride ourselves on being able to conduct negotiations with prosecution in the Local, District and Supreme Court.

Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVO) and Apprehended Personal Violence Orders (APVO):

An AVO is a court order in Australia designed to protect a person from violence, threats, harassment, or intimidation by another person.

There are two main types of an AVO:

ADVO – Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (for domestic relationships e.g. current partners, ex partners and immediate or extended family)

APVO – Apprehended Personal Violence Order (for non-domestic relationships, e.g., neighbors, co-workers)

An ADVO and APVO is a legal order made by a court to protect someone (the “protected person”) from another person (the “defendant”). The protected person must have reasonably based fear that the defendant may cause physical or mental harm to them.

An AVO that is applied for by the police is typically issued alongside or as part of criminal charge proceedings, however an AVO on its own is not a criminal charge, it is a civil matter.

If someone breaches an AVO, it then becomes a criminal charge and it can lead to arrest, fines, or jail time.

A Final AVO may affect any parenting arrangements, family law matters, or firearms licenses.
